Gethsemane

Our Heavenly Father has commanded angels concerning us, Jesus asked us to love us like He did Him, and yes, I know He offer Him up, but we were crucified with them and we have new and eternal life. Jesus gave us salvation and so many benefits of it by His holy sacrifice. he was in effect all the offerings and truly took our place.

That is not to say we won’t have to trust Him, resist the enemy of the soul. To follow Jesus is to walk in His footsteps and He even had to rest and replenish the dunamis power of God, that you hear referred to as the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

He walked in the Spirit without measure, most of us will only have so much authority because we don’t listen and obey exactly like He did. But He is there for us in His grace and mercy, and He lets us rest  and refresh our spiritual gifts. We have to give Him the glory, we could never do anything in our own power.

God sent angels to minister to Jesus and He certainly will charge them over us. The Bible says after the devil left, angels ministered to Him. Of course He was resisting temptation and had fasted forty days and also in the garden, Jesus agonized like we probably never will. What a precious Lord.

If we find ourselves in spiritual battles we can ask God to send His angels, to fight for us and to minister to us. Renenber, the devil wanted Jesus to bow to him, offering Him the world. I have been told that was a lie, he didn’t own it because the earth is God’s and the fullness thereof. But he did have Adam’s authority over it from the fall, Jesus would later take those keys to death, hell and the grave after the crucifixion and return the authority of the believers.

Until He comes we must have communion with Him, literally and by the breaking of bread. Proclaiming His death until He comes and knowing He was the only worthy and acceptable offering and because of Him the Father accepts us and sends His angels.

This is a more recent painting of an angel ministering to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, but is free to use and in the public domain, I made it a screensaver. Rebecca Jones

The Sowing Angel

The Sowing Angel, is a painting from 1860 by Armand Cambon. It is perfect to go along with our post about walking with the Father. The Word of God is sown into us and the enemy will get it out if we are not careful, It is hard to sow seeds and birds or in the spirit, demons, come along and eat them up.

God promises us one thing and then another happens, the sower sows the words but we must be good ground and not let him have it, the word is choked by thorns, or is on rocky ground, it can just be blown away.. Jesus even said f Himself, that a seed falls into the ground and dies and brings forth a harvest.

Whether it is seeds that are for crops or beautiful flowers that you can enjoy your walks through. There are things that will hinder that walk and keep them from growing. It is the same in the spiritual realm and we must be aware of our spiritual walk, keep our focus on Christ and not lose the words or promises sown in us. The Sowing Angel is a good reminder to do that.

Sowing angels are real angels, and also those with the message of the good news of the gospel of peace. And we all minister in many ways everyday, whether ministers or just believers. Is there anyone who is just a believer? And we should continue to sow and one day reap a harvest for His glory.

Isaac’s Binding And Angels

WOA_IMAGE_1

Abraham was honoring God, His Father, when he went to Mount Moriah, having been through all he had already with Sarah, Hagar and Ishmael, and now to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. He left for mountain saying he and the lad would be back. That is faith, the kind from Hebrews 11.

He had to believe that even if he sacrificed him, that God would raise Him up again, and even from ashes if necessary. That would be major faith and true beauty for ashes. Jesus’ body would have been thrown into a fire pit with the other criminals had there not been a tomb for Him.

The Bible say that God would not leave Him hell, in reference to that and the literal one where He took the keys of death, hell ,and the grave. Jesus was “consumed ” in a sense, and was all offerings in one and once and for all, to anyone who would believe including burnt offering. His blood is far above those sacrifices.

The binding of Isaac as it is called was a type of Christ, I also believe as many scholars, God never intended for him to be sacrificed. He was old enough to carry the wood, a type of cross. his name means laughter and it was Jesus as the Angel of the Lord, who heard Sarah laugh. When she denied it, He just restated that she did.

And we know that Jesus is our joy. so when the altar was built and Isaac asked about the offering. Abraham said God would provide the lamb. Perhaps, it was faith and it even prophetic, as Jesus was the Lamb of God. Notice it is a ram that was actually sacrificed.

Now we may not know the actual age of Isaac, but he was probably between about seven and teenaged or a very young man. He had to submit to  Abraham and let him tie his hands behind his back and lie on the altar.I have seen images or movies where he shields his eyes and draws back the knife, but just at that moment the Angel of the Lord out of heaven called to Abraham, and said:

“Abraham! Abraham!”

And Abraham answered, “Here I am, Lord.” Then the Angel of the Lord said: “Do not lay your hand upon your son. Do no harm to him. Now I know that you love God more than you love your only son, and that you are obedient to God, since you are ready to give up your son, your only son, to God.”

Was this angel of the Lord, Jesus as well? I believe it is possible for he knew already even then what he would come to do for us one day, and was not about to let Isaac die or be burned, but to let it show the faith of a patriarch, and the kind of faith that we can have. And He would not have had wings.

He really does give beauty for ashes, joy for mourning. Abraham and Isaac would have certainly been overjoyed. You can read the story in Genesis 22. And God can even restores ashes, He will call for the dead to be resurrected, and judge them.

We really have no idea of the suffering Jesus endured as He took our punishment, He honored His Father to let Him be ours as well.

This painting in in the Hermitage Museum in England. The Sacrifice of Isaac was painted by a 29 yr, old Rembrandt, in 1635. Similar images were found in the catacombs near the tombs or Christians.

I chose this kneeling angel to be the one who goes ahead of the servant to get Rebekah as Isaac’s wife.

The LORD, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, ‘To your descendants I will give this land,’ He will send His angel before you, and you will take a wife for my son from there. Genesis 24:7

Watching And Waiting

By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.…1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

A lot of people talk about the end of the world but it will never end really, just the age. What a glorious thing for time to be no more and to be forever with the Lord. We are in a closer time than ever and for such a time as this, we are here writing and blogging and sharing the love of Jesus.

We want to make sure everyone knows and hears, He will give them every chance to believe He is Lord. But we are to watch and pray and be on guard against the enemy of our souls, that we may be in a place to be an effective witness of His power and glory, we have testimonies to share. Time may run out as we know it but there is an eternity.

Believers will spend it with the Lord and many will not die but be here when He comes for His church, before the terrible Tribulation, and the He will come and reign a thousand years after defeating the AntChrist, we want to be with Him,

The enemy knows his time is short, let’s make sure we know he is bound in our lives, we are covered by the blood of Jesus and His angels are there for us travelling at a speed even faster than light with His Spirit. This is a message I want out there. Not a frightening one but one of love.

If you don’t know Jesus as Lord, will you consider accepting Him? Eternity is too long a time to not enjoy His love and peace.

Water From Heaven

hagar

This a painting of Hagar, see her empty vessel. Although I don’t see Ishmael anywhere. When Hagar had a child with Abraham, with Sarah’s consent, she managed to improve her status or so she thought.

While there were repeated arguments and frustration after the birth of Isaac, things turned bitter and she was driven from camp. With her son, she was soon out of water but believed God saw her and was visited by the Angel of the Lord. So probably, no wings.

It is my opinion this was Jesus, Himself as He appeared many times in the Old Testament. Even as one of the angels who visited Sarah. She was given water and told to return and do as she was told, probably not what she expected.

Many times, we too, can go astray but Jesus will direct us to water in our deserts or wildernesses. And of course, the Holy Spirit causes rivers of living waters to flow, and that can prevent the roaming as well. He will quench our thirst if we do not quench His Spirit.

Another reason to be immersed in His love.

Should Angels Weep

Should angels weep,

One asked the Father,

A lesser one, scolder her,

” Don’t be a bother. ”

But the loving Lord, held her.

He wiped away a tear.

And explained salvation to her,

Why she should not cry.

Jesus was their only hope,

And He would go and die.

The archangel wanted her,

To go on her way,

But when the Father spoke,

The angels listened,

To every word He had to say.

He told them not to cry,

Jesus tears were in His hands,

They were to hearken to His words,

Follow His commands.

Though some were fallen,

Most had stayed.

For they knew the loving Father,

They listened and obeyed.

Angels should not weep,

They guard our tearful sleep,

Winging swiftly to us,

As we prayed.

Knowing we knew Jesus,

Tear bottle in hand,

They caught each drop,

Obedient to His command.

And there was a chose angel,

This little one who dared to ask,

She was given, a most divinely inspired task.

She was chosen to capture every tear of Christ,

The human Son of God, the blessed Lord.

Nail pierced hands, and flesh that was sliced.

” How could a sensitive little angel do this? ”

The archangel was heard to say,

Not doubting though, the Father.

He bowed his head and backed away.

God was patient as her spoke to her,

She knew Jesus, she didn’t want Him to go.

Much less to die.

She looked at the Father,

A tear glistening in her eye.

She was listening, He kissed her,

Then the Father began to cry.

All the angels were amazed.

The folded their wings and praised.

Worthy is the Lamb,

Our Father is sending the Son,

The great I AM.

In a moment of time they saw a child.

Her mother began to pray, then weep instead.

Her husband was seeking Jesus, in the crowd.

Hushed tears grew loud, her daughter was dead.

Servants ran to tell him,,

But to Jesus who had already healed a woman,

It was no bother, but love instead,

He raised her from the dead.

For He had seen the tears of His Father.

That is why angels do not weep.

The Father had already cried,

The plan of salvation kept,

In the tears a Trinity that wept.

So angels tears were forever dried.

Just as our will be someday soon,

Because our Lord was crucified.

The little angel did as she was asked.

Catching every tear in her golden flask.

She asked when no other angel would bother,

And now she is forever seated close to the Father.

Angels do not need to weep,

For we shed enough tears,

And our bottles they keep.

Glorious Angels

Though these angels can be confused with other religions, we are claiming them to go with the post about the father’s forgiveness, Jesus told a parable about the son who left home and squandered his inheritance. It portrays His Father’s love.

These two could very well be the angels over the prodigal and the brother. Whether a  child is off in a sinful life or doing well like the brother, they both can use the help of a guardian angel. While God the Father charges angels over His children, we can do the same.

It is important to pray Psalm 91, 103, and over fears and sleep. For angels to protect and deliver them and help bring them into good friendships and opportunities for salvation. God hears and gives them every opportunity.

He welcomes them home, He is patient but will not always strive with mankind. Our culture today is one that is steadily declining. God is pouring out His healing rain and His grace in the last days, but it is not wise to abuse it and keep on sinning.

While the prodigal came home broke and hungry wanting to be a slave, which the father never let him say, He desires sons and daughters who love HIm, just for  who He is and because He loved them first. And it really took love to give up Jesus for us.

Please pray for your prodigals, but trust the Lord with them if there is nothing you can do. He sees hearts and knows so much more how to reach souls. He will give them every chance. And He would want you to have peace.

Also, if you have a child who is well behaved and sometimes takes a backseat to the one requiring all the disciple, pay some extra attention to him or her, even older ones or grown ups. They are kind of like the brother in the parable.

All Through the Night

I just loved this image of children and the angels and doves all around. It reminded me of the Christmas carol or lullaby All Through the Night. I have sung it to many children so I will let you have a copy of the words, carol or to calm a sleepyhead at nap time or bedtime, this is a sweet and beautiful melody, who could use angels on guard or wouldn’t want them watching All Through the Night?

Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping,
I my loving vigil keeping
All through the night.

While the moon her watch is keeping
All through the night
While the weary world is sleeping
All through the night
O’er they spirit gently stealing
Visions of delight revealing
Breathes a pure and holy feeling
All through the night.

Love, to thee my thoughts are turning
All through the night
All for thee my heart is yearning,
All through the night.
Though sad fate our lives may sever
Parting will not last forever,
There’s a hope that leaves me never,
All through the night

It also ties in well with good gifts from the Father, sleep for the beloved Psalm 127: 2 and His rest, Hebrews 4.

His peace, Rebecca Jones

Sunday Bonus An Angel Wing

Here is an angel wing,

To make your hearts sing.

Your day a little brighter,

And even your load a little lighter.

A wing and prayer,

Suddenly, she’s on your shoulder.

The guardian angel assigned to you, a child.

Still with you, now older.

And hopefully, wiser still.

Knowing God loves you and always will.

She is present, heaven sent,

Charged by God , as she went.

Carrying a message or just some strength,

Winging in earthy descent.

She can appear in a moment, or at length.

And be gone just the same,

You don’t have to see her,

Or even know her name.

But quick as a wink, she made you think,

God loves me, Jesus sets me free.

And she is back from where she came.

There she goes, the angel wing,

She made your heart sing.

Now your day is a little brighter,

Your load a little lighter.

And just maybe, your laundry is a little whiter.

Commanding Angel

After the garden of Eden and the angels, there is another story in Exodus 23:20, about another angel.

This angel goes ahead as a battle is about to happen. In those days it was even more likely for people to see an angel, as they were given instructions.

“Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. Pay careful attention to him and obey his voice; do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression, for my name is in him.

But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

When my angel goes before you and brings you to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, and I blot them out, you shall not bow down to their gods nor serve them, nor do as they do, but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their pillars in pieces. You shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you.

This goes through verse 25, and as Canaan is about to fall the instruction is given to listen to the angel. It would be wise to listen in the battle, God fights for us when we are still, and this tie in perfectly with listening to voice of the Spirit and to our Father, for Jesus made it possible for us to come and ask in His name.
