Take This Cup

Here is another example of the price Jesus paid for us. He drank from the cup and defeated the enemy, so that we could be saved, have healing and angelic protection. He literally willed us an inheritance and left us His peace, John 14:27, as a gift.

He tasted death so the children would not know it’s sting if they turned to Him, and we are living in a day and  time when we could see His return, we may be a generation of believers who are alive a remaining to be caught up with Him, before the Second Coming.

No many how many times we read it or see a movie, we will never know what it was for Him to go through  all that mocking, scourging and being beaten, and they even plucked His beard.

And I know about thorns, just the small ones from my roses, I can only imagine some that were and inch or two and thick.wound tightly on His head. Shoved on by a solder, who would perhaps push Him over to a cross.

The love that help Him there is amazing. And I am so blessed to have the ability to relate His suffer and passion for people to you. If you do not know Jesus as Lord, please thing about today. He is coming soon. May you too, begin to feel His amazing love.

The Fiery Furnace

It is horrible to hear about the concentration camps, but furnace have been around and a punishment as far back ancient Bible times. Daniel and his friends went into Babylonian captivity, while Daniel had to face lions, later on, his friends went to the fiery furnace.

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were of the tribe of Judah. The chief of the eunuchs gave them new names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego.

While Daniel had a different calling, his friends were set up as rulers over Babylon, but were denounced because they refused to worship the false gods, or the image of the king on the plain of Dura. They refused vehemently saying even if He didn’t deliver them, they would not bow, so Nebuchadnezzar ordered it made seven times hotter. And in they went. It was so hot it killed the men who put them in. The king got up and asked had they not put in three men, because he was seeing four.

Now, some translations say he says the fourth was like the son of the gods, KJV says son of God, which is accurate from the Hebrew, and they are not bound as before, burned, scorched, or singed.  They did not even smell of smoke and as a non smoker that is something you pick up on clothes, especially.

Then he ordered that no one bother them or else trouble and praised the Most High God, El Elyon. So in this instance, I believe that  this is Jesus appearing as the Angel of the Lord again. Daniel also sees Him, as a man clothed in linen.

Daniel has the gift of interpreting dreams, and he has visions. People still do, but as always I urge readers to use caution as to who teaches you, but to let the Holy Spirit guide you. Daniel is a prophetic book, and some of his writing ties to Revelation and ancient history.

We also know the king went mad, he was giving God some glory and then started taking credit, he was out of his mind and ate grass before being restored and later on Darius puts an older Daniel in the lion’s den. Rebecca Jones

Calling All Angels!

Calling all angels to our rescue. Any of us who need deliverance from danger or any problem any who are sick and need a touch from the Lord sent on angels wings or even from His own hand. This picture looks like He is commanding them. The centurion understood, he didn’t even want Jesus to come to his house, he didn’t feel worthy but understood authority. Jesus  honored his request and he is one of two people who are said to have had great faith. They were not Jewish.

When something goes wrong , we call 911 and we should but then there is Psalm 91:1, He that dwells in the secret place of the Almighty shall abide under the shadow of His wings. It is a reference to the mercy seat. And 91:11, For He will give his angels charge over us. So let’s call all the angels to our side, cancelling the enemy assignments.

The centurion, being a soldier in a tough Roman army understood that Jesus had authority, spiritual authority. He had that authority by the Holy Spirit, He gave us authority as a believer. He promised nothing, by any means would harm us. Luke 10:17. So we have His authority working for us as a believer, if a centurion and a Syrophoenician woman understood that, and she was asking for crumbs, certainly, He offers us more after the Gentiles were grafted into the covenant. We should be living so the Jews take notice.

We should be praying from His holy rest, know He has already been victorious for us. He was arrested and crucified in order to ransom our souls. And had Peter to put away his sword, he was saving him here and healed Malchus ear, Peter may have been  killed, and yet, he will deny knowing Him. He could have called legions of angels, possibly as many as 72,000. For our sake, He chose to die.

But He will call them out on of behalf, angels are said to be innumerable but like the stars I would imagine God knows each of them and calls them by name. In fact, His original command of, ” Light be! ” may be ongoing, there are so many unexplored galaxies, could He still be creating angels? People are still being born.

To me it was unclear if Jesus asked for angelic help after being tempted or in Gethsemane, He could have or else God just sent them as ministering spirits, Hebrews 1:14. Personally, I think God is so good, He sees what we need and will send it even if we don’t always ask. But it never hurts to ask Him to charge angels for us, and thank Him too.

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! Isaiah 65:24. Now that is some verse, and it could very well be included as a promise to us as descendants of Abraham, He answers before we finish, that is better than 911, but call them anyway He understands, Just remember, Psalm 91:1 and 91:11.

We need angel when we are weary, saints are being worn out everyday, but we have every bit of help we need by calling all angels. Thousands of them, innumerable, fallen ones are outnumbered two to one or more. And God’s phone number is Jeremiah 33:3, Call upon me and I will answer and show you mighty things you did not know.

The Angel With A Pearl

e70409012bd9f07d4adbf7b8b81a3e59

Lovely angel with a pearl,

Do you guard such a gate,

Or are you just a guardian,

To this girl.

Your beauty and grace are evident,

Though we can’t see your face.

Are your hiding, secretly watching,

From a silent place?

Or are just hovering over?

Waiting to appear?

Standing or sitting, with open wings,

You see so many things.

Or are you, perhaps, in flight.

Guarding me, both day and night.

I will know you, when I see you appear,

A lovely pearl earring in your ear.

Angels On Assignment

a67f327da4a475e65ea49adc36b3ea1a

There have been so many things going on again that I was impressed of the Lord to step up the teaching on angels. A few weeks ago, there was a suicide in a school, in a small town. It was the fourth in two years. Compare that to cities.

I have found myself writing about suicide more and more. It is a terrible spirit related to hopelessness, and some believers have been caught in its web as well, including a pastor. Even strong people of faith, have to guard against the enemy’s ruse, that it will never get better. Like children at school, the devil is a bully and a liar, he’s constantly throwing darts.

Parents, children, believers and we should pray for those who are not, to have the love of Jesus shown to them, we can all have angelic intervention. Angelic protection is a promise to Christians. My interest in angels drew a few arguments. Why didn’t they save this person or that?

I told the someone who asked this that perhaps no one was  praying for the child, of course the child had fallen from a hotel room window a number of stories. So, it is possible that a parent or guardian was distracted, or the window left open or any number of contributing factors. Angels caught the soul, even as the body fell. they do not just automatically intervene or they would rescue everyone, they follow the Word.

Much like those on 9/11 said a prayer, made the genuflection and leapt rather than burn, angels caught them, no matter what the news footage shows. Children are inundated with information more so now than ever and parents should be paying attention.

My best answer to children as to why people do these things, murder, crash planes, is that they don’t know Jesus. I was always careful as to what children saw  when I was caring for them.

One of the things we did was to take a map or some sort of paper with a picture of the school, and Christian parents were urged to take a drive around the school and pray. We drew red circles to cover it with the blood of Jesus, and asked that angels be assigned there, guardians, warriors, commanding ones. I pray for teachers too.

And churches are no exception, we have seen the synagogue shooting and the many churches and if you are in another country or know of missionaries somewhere you can do that for them. Whether on paper, which is good or a verbal agreement with two or three, He is there. At one church a security guard was able to stop a shooter.

Angels respond to God’s commands, and our prayers, He is listening. And everytime you start to worry remember that prayer and His promise. I have seen children under attack for years, I have some wonderful stories of intervention as well.  Plead that blood and know angels are there. Thank Him for protection. Fear is a terrible thing, and if you can’t trust children to God who can you trust? Prayers should be said over them, bless them. Teach them, and love them.

Angels are on assignment, they can go in Jesus name. Let’s not hinder them with doubt, or have them standing there with folded wings as we face danger alone.

Zacharias’ Visit

I was thinking today about Zacharias as I was ready to post a story about him that i had written earlier and so I was just proofreading. Interesting, Gabriel visited Mary, and though had her questions and was skeptical or even doubted a little at first, she agreed that she was the servant of the Lord and believed the angel.

And she was a young woman, here is  a man who serves in the temple and Gabriel appears to him and his doubts and perhaps even unbelief from a religious man causes the angel to make him mute until the baby arrives.

I don’t believe it just a man / woman difference but a matter of acceptance and faith. Zacharias is an example of religion and Mary, relationship, she was pios as opposed to proud. Religion will give you rules and boundaries. Religion actually means bound to.

While God has rules and boundaries, they are for our own benefit. He gives us a free will and He offers grace, Jesus commandment to love fulfills all the others. We have a choice to believe or not, to receive His words or not, to speak them or not.

And even to believe them being delivered by an angel or not. This is a pretty accurate rendering of Gabriel I would say being in the glory and he is often painted with flowers, though I saw a painting of he and Zacharias with only a white robe.   And another one where is is white but depicted as a seraphim, there is no Biblical evidence of him being a seraphim, with six wings. But it could be true as he is and archangel and close to God. He may have come from the very throne of God.

The moral of this story that if you are visited by an angel you should pay attention and not have to be made a mute by unbelief.  I do believe people have and still at visited though mostly unaware. As always I urge my readers to be cautious of just anyone’s teaching but to ask the Holy Spirit to help them discern.

The Resurrection Angel

DSC_0371

Why do some of the best angels have to be in cemeteries? I used to go there sometimes to leave flowers, I would even leave some in empty vases and wonder what their lives were like, I hated to see the little baby grave near my great grandparents’ headstone. But this is a good reminder of what Jesus, the resurrection and the life. Amd not just when you die, but after being born again, what a good a perfect gift from the Father.

This is the Resurrection Angel in a Brooklyn cemetery, she stands as the marker over a single name, Valentine. The words “Ego Sum Resurrectio Et Vita” are inscribed in the granite base, and translated from Latin as “I am the Resurrection and the Life.” How appropriate.

And how appropriate for a believer, to separated from death to life, that happens when you are born again, in the spiritual aspect anyway, and it was wonderful God wanted us to live forever in a sinless world, that was the plan. Then we could have enjoyed these marvelous statues in less sorrowful places.

I always wanted to tour Oakland cemetery in Atlanta and never did, I used to think of them in a peaceful way, perhaps, I felt God’s rest in the breeze that always passed over me when went, but my own health and close enough encounter with that experience gave me an aversion to them. I don’t need reminders of death, but of life and Jesus is our resurrection and life, not only when passing into glory, but as His glory is passing to us. He should get glory from our lives, not just a sacred, solemn moment at the end.

The angel was sculpted by the Italian born artist Adolpho Appoloni and the base of the angel also identifies that it was made at “G. Nisini Fuse” which is deemed as one of Italy’s finest 19th century bronze foundries.
She is glorious, the detail to the wings and robe are stunning. Such works should be in museums and parks, not just cemeteries. The Resurrection Angel is a tribute to the talents given by God and it makes we wonder what is going on in heaven as artists are preparing mansions or rooms for believers, in our Father’s House. Even the view from the back is wonderful as she lifts her arms in praise.
We all need a resurrection angel, if just to lift our spirits and remind us who is the resurrection and the life, but then we should already know that is our Lord Jesus. Rebecca Jones

Heavenly Trio

I found these paintings and are they ever gorgeous, I could have used them but I hit add media suddenly had an angelic trio. These angels are powerful guardians and ministering spirits sent to be the heirs of salvation.

One has a lantern to light the way, the other bowl of some sort, perhaps for prayers or incense, and the other a vessel. So let’s just take a verse for each angel and let God charge them as He will according to Psalm 91. We all need His angels to move in our lives every day.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

An angel, one of seven, pours from his bowl and sores break out on those who have taken the mark of the beast. Revelation 16:2

But the Lord said to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings…..Acts 9:15

God is telling Annaias about the conversion of Saul to Paul. Isn’t it great how angels are woven throughout the Bible. They are there whether seen or unseen, in bodily form or from His glory, and whether or not they are seen, they can appear in dreams or visions.

They are always being charged by God to be of assistance to His saints.

Unemployed Angels?

These angels look sad for some reason, angels are not like people though, they are not given to emotion but to the obedience of God, Though the rejoice over sinners being saved and praise and worship, if they were to act on impulse, they would intervene on their own, and they cannot.

The Lord charges them and gives the, assignments. they follow His will and obey His Word, else they would be fallen too. God still gives people a free will. And your will is part of your soul, anlong with the mind and emotions.

The actual definition of angel is messenger. Do they deliver messages of course they do, look at Mary and Joseph as an example. Do they do that today? Yes, they still worf on the behalf of believers today, so ask God to send them to help you.

I always pray they will help find missing people or pets, protect children, do spiritual warfare or believers. And keep aways storms both spiritual and literal. It is good to plead the blood of Jesus over your home and family and angels to be on guard in His name.

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:7

And now your servant says, ‘May the word of my lord the king secure my inheritance, for my lord the king is like an angel of God in discerning good and evil. May the LORD your God be with you. 2:Samuel 14:17

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14

I do like the second verse because we need the Holy Spirit to give us discernment, because even though there are more angels to protect us, there are still demonic and deceptive spirits, so be careful what you read and study about angels and as the Holy Spirit for help.

And remember, angels are not emotional and cannot act on their own but at God’s command and in answer to our prayers. They have no reason to be sad. Perhaps these just have no assignment. Are these angels out of work, God needs to hear prayers and he will charge them. Let’s let angels work for us as believers. And not stand with folded wings.

Don’t Neglect Salvation

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He, Himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. For surely it is not angels that He helps, but He helps the offspring of Abraham. Therefore He had to be made like His brothers in every respect, so that He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For because He, Himself, has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.  Hebrews 2:14-18, link at the bottom.

What a beautiful chapter about Jesus. Angels fell because of disobedience and were not restored. But now we see angels working alongside the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. And the beauty of the chapter explains how Jesus who was higher than any angel allowed Himself to be subjected to the very same trials and temptations that we all face.

He did this so that He could be a compassionate High Priest as He is now, watching over us and answering prayers.  Because the children were flesh and blood, He tasted death, to free them from it. Death makes you a slave, it causes fear and grief. When a believer goes to heaven there still may be some fear but Jesus will be there to greet you. The devil was the one with the power of death, Jesus has and will destroy it forever.

But more than that, His return is ever closer and many will never die but see Him come. We were never meant to die, but God could not allow people to live forever in a fallen state or a fallen world. Jesus took back that authority and gave it to believers Through Jesus many have been saved but still not to live forever on earth, but this generation could very well step right into eternity, should they not neglect so great a salvation.

If you ever think He doesn’t understand you think again. He knows what it is like to tempted, tormented and tortured in every way, yet He did not sin. Even under accusations and arguments, with people wanting to kill Him, and being crucified, He was innocent so He could die for us.

And this painting is from the 17th century, a French art school. I have seen lots of paintings of Jesus being ministered to, but never one like this. he has a table and angels serving Him. That would have been something after the agony of Gethsemane. The lobster looking thing on the plate has to be a fish, lobster was out for Jews with the food laws. But thankfully, those are out with the new covenant, whatever you bless is clean, not that you should eat just anything though.

He didn’t come to help the angels, He came to help us. And I just love those verses where it is doubled, He Himself did it. For me!
