On Angel's Wings

Here is another lovely maiden surrounded by angels, as believers we are also so very often and should never forget it.

Isn’t this one wonderful. I have blessed to find several old lithographs or cards with Victorian women and either cupids of cherubs. I prefer to think cherub. This one is about to get caught decorating with flower. I am always glad that someone has bother to save these for us to enjoy.

I wish I could have gotten the artist’s name on this, there is a signature, I just could not read it, but it is gorgeous. The elegant lady in her blue ball gown being whispered to by a cherub, she even has a footstool. And what appears to be a fan and rose in the other hand and roses in her hair.

What is the angel saying? Maybe…..

Let all you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

I thought this was an excellent painting, again it is difficult to read a signature. A beautiful maiden caresses the chin of cherub, who has no doubt brought her some romantic news.

Nothing……will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ our Lord. Romans 8:38,39

Welcome back to On Angel’s Wings. This month I will have lots of Valentine cards for you. Please follow on FB for more poetry and Valentine posts. Don’t you just love this little cherub? I have a surprise too, for those of who who enjoy doing puzzles as much as I do.

She is also a puzzle.

I could not help but love this angel, still, she has shamrocks and money, remember, Jesus is not about luck but love. And as the apostle Paul said, I pray He prosepers His beloved even as their souls prosper. It can mean money but even more importantly wisdom and health, protection and the guidance of His Spirit.

Not a card but some of the trumpets that may sound or ring in the New Year, like the shofars of Rosh Hashanah. May God bless and keep us, deliver us from evil and prosper our soul in the year 2020. And may we walk worthy of Him and soon walk before Him in white.

I pray we know healing and peace. May we experience His joy like never before. Jesus was the reason for the Christmas season, and why we can face tomorrow, as our risen Lord. His peace is our gift. John 14:27. may we all have deeper faith and constant hope fixed on His love.

What a great angel and she has a palm leaf representing peace. That is a wonderful change from some of the cards I am seeing about luck, and angels with posts of gold and horseshoes, and shamrocks or clovers and a sort of leprechaun influence that is not really Christ.

He is the Prince of Peace and the Bible declares Him as our peace. His peace is a gift left to believers in John 14:27 and the palm frond or even a dove would be appropriate with an angel. It is not about luck, it is about love.

I was able to lighten this French card and remove some numbers, but the French greeting is still wish you a Happy New Year. I thought these little cherubs were just so cute, too cute to pass up as  we to continue with our cards to round out 2019. The card probably is at least a hundred if not more years old.

I do wish we could see them as they were then, a little clearer but they are a great reminder of how we have always celebrated love and holidays and it is good to know others loved to see angels just like we do.
